Innovation still a hallmark of Basin Electric

Josh Raynes, Basin Electric performance engineer, explains readings collected by a a laser grid inside the boiler at Antelope Valley Station.

Since its inception in 1961, Basin Electric has participated in many first-of-its-kind projects and commissioned many serial number-one pieces of equipment when prudent to meet the needs of the membership.

That strong tradition is carried by employees like Josh Raynes, Basin Electric performance engineer.

One of Raynes’ most recent projects was helping guide installation of combustion optimizer technology on both units at Antelope Valley Station. The project would potentially increase the plant’s operating efficiency, reduce operating and maintenance costs, and lower the plant’s environmental footprint.
