The Basin Electric team at the 2017 Bismarck Heart Walk raised the most money for the American Heart Association in their work to rid the world of heart disease and stroke.

Basin Has Heart raised more than $3,700 through special sock sales, a taco in a bag lunch, and donations to sponsor the walkers.

Grace Baker, team captain and Basin Electric media distribution coordinator, is a heart attack survivor. “When I say thank you from the bottom of my heart, it is because the lower left chamber is where my blockage was. Because of the research and technology, I was able to survive my heart attack without any stints or lasting effects. Other than, of course, the passion I have for finding preventive measures and treatable actions,” Baker says. “I am so appreciative of my family and friends. You guys are amazing, and so very supportive.”

During the taco in a bag lunch, the team even had some help from Basin Electric employee heart survivors Bruce Ellwein, lead maintenance, and Ron Roehrich, senior electrical designer.
