Dance floor constructed for plant boiler inspection (Video)

During the spring maintenance outage at Basin Electric’s Antelope Valley Station near Beulah, ND, Unit 1 had inspections completed in its boiler.

To understand what it takes to complete these inspections, a time-lapse video captured installation of what’s called the “dance floor” inside the boiler. The dance floor is basically built to protect the people working below from falling or dropped objects.

The dance floor was contracted out from Safway Scaffolding. It took about 36 hours to install and about 24 hours to take down.
