Basin Electric’s Sharing Tree brightens the holidays

More than 100 children and adults in the Bismarck-Mandan area and 75 children in Mercer County will have a present under the Christmas tree, thanks to Basin Electric employees.

For the 17th year, Basin Electric employees at Headquarters, Antelope Valley Station and the Great Plains Synfuels Plant participated in the co-op’s Sharing Tree program.

Local agencies like Missouri Slope Areawide United Way, Burleigh County Social Services, Morton County Social Services, Welcome House and Women’s Action Resource Center (Beulah) helped Basin Electric with this project.

In addition to supporting children and adults in need, Basin Electric employees participated in the Kali Grace & Minnie Mouse Toy Drive for the third year.

Kali Grace, a Brave the Shave honoree, became an angel at just 3 years old. She bravely battled cancer for 15 months until she passed away in 2014. This is the third holiday season her family has collected toys to be delivered to Sanford Children’s Hospital in her honor.

Presents, including a brand new bike, surround the Sharing Tree in Basin Electric's Headquarters lobby.
