Angela Magstadt, Basin Electric staff writer, has received the North Dakota Water Wheel award from the North Dakota Water Users Association and North Dakota Water Resource Districts Association. The award recognizes Magstadt’s service and dedication for the development of North Dakota’s water resources.
Magstadt worked at the North Dakota Water Education Foundation from 2001 to 2016. She began working at Basin Electric in October 2016.
During her time with the foundation, she served as editor of the North Dakota Water magazine, producing 10 magazines each year and several special issues. She helped plan and guide Water Education Foundation water tours and assisted with Water Day at the North Dakota State Fair. She was also involved in contributing information and writing on irrigation issues including workshops and legislative issues.
Mike Dwyer, North Dakota Water Users executive vice president, says Magstadt’s contributions have been invaluable. “The North Dakota water program is well-known and respected, and that is largely because of Angela’s work,” he says. “She was a great employee.”
Previous winners of the North Dakota Water Wheel award include Jean Schafer, Basin Electric legislative representative, who served as the executive director of the North Dakota Water Coalition for 14 years prior to working for Basin Electric.
