Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, the annual charitable event created to celebrate and encourage giving, has arrived.

If you’re considering a contribution to the Brave the Shave Family Fund as part of Giving Tuesday, one option is to set up a recurring gift.

The Brave the Shave Family Fund supports more than 60 families throughout the region who are currently battling or have battled childhood cancer. Recurring gifts help Honoree families face ongoing challenges throughout their cancer journey, and a monthly donation is dependable support these families can count on throughout the year.

For example, a $5 recurring contribution per month totals a gift of $60 in a year. Make that monthly gift $25, and a total of $300 will help provide critical support to an Honoree and their family.

Brave the Shave families gather at the Brave the Shave flagship event each March, as well as at events throughout the year.

Tara Schilke, Bismarck Cancer Center registered nurse manager and oncology program coordinator, helped organize a Brave the Shave Honoree art class in September. “I feel it’s kind of a support system for the families and their kids,” Schilke says. “They can get together and just have time to be kids and have someone there that understands what they’re going through and what they’ve been through.”

Keep watch for details on the 2017 Brave the Shave flagship event in March, and in the meantime, consider a donation to the Brave the Shave Family Fund. Every dollar makes a difference!

(P.S. Share news of your donation on social media, using the hashtags #BTSfamilyfund and #GivingTuesday!)
