Braving the shave; honoring a life

The cover of the March-April issue of Basin Today features Caity Davies and Victoria Brocker, two members of Team Law from the 5th annual Guns n’ Hoses, celebrating after having their heads shaved.

At Brave the Shave events, some people shave in support of children fighting pediatric cancer and some shave in honor of those who battle no more.

Between smiles and tears, Caity and Victoria sat before the crowd gathered at the 5th annual Guns n’ Hoses to have their heads shaved in honor of Ashlyne Faith Thurber, a ten-year-old girl from Minnesota who passed away from childhood cancer.

Basin Electric staff photographer Chelsy Ciavarella took these photos that capture  moments of reflection and silent strength that culminate in tears of joy and amazement all in the name of Ashlyne.
