Team Bald Man Group will take the stage this Friday to have their heads shaved in support of Brave the Shave. But before they do that, they’ve been busy fundraising. In fact, their second annual poker tournament, coordinated by Roughrider Poker Tour, raised $4,500 for Brave The Shave!

Held Feb. 27 at the Tumbleweed Bar and Grill in Lincoln, ND, the poker tournament attracted 105 participants. That’s 13 players more players than last year. Also, the event raised $500 more than last year’s event.

“It was quite the turn out, and this year’s event was a much larger success than last year, which of course, blew our standards we had last year,” Bald Man Group’s team lead Derrick Becker, says of this year’s poker tournament.

The Bald Man Group is made up of employees from First Community Credit Union, First International Bank & Trust, PraxAir and The Window & Door Store. The team’s goal is to raise $5,000. “The proceeds from the poker tourney will push us over our goal,” Beckers cheerfully says.

This is Becker’s fourth year participating in Brave The Shave. The first two years he drove from Fargo, where he worked at one of First Community Credit Union’s Fargo branches, to Bismarck to attend the Flagship event.
