The Bismarck Cancer Center allows patients in the Bismarck-Mandan (ND) area to receive world-class cancer treatment and caring support while staying close to home and loved ones. CHI St. Alexius Health and Sanford Health joined forces to build and operate this facility.

Brave the Shave is offering Bismarck Cancer Center as one of the opportunities to raise money to fight childhood cancer this year.

There are five choices on bravetheshave.coop: St. Baldrick’s Foundation, Brave the Shave Family Fund, Sanford Health – Pediatric Oncology, and CHI St. Alexius Health’s NICU and Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation.

This annual multi-state charitable campaign raises money for pediatric cancer. The sole mission is to help kids, their families and support the full spectrum of their cancer journey. Since starting this campaign in 2008, more than 2,000 of people have volunteered at Brave the Shave events, cut their hair or shaved their heads to support impacted children, raising nearly $2 million.

Funds raised by the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation help lighten the burden and stress of cancer by offering much-needed support to patients throughout their cancer journeys. When Brave the Shave participants and donors direct their dollars to Bismarck Cancer Center,it helps patients receive transportation, lodging and financial assistance; emotional, dietary and spiritual care, physical and massage therapy, and more.

Tara Schilke, Bismarck Cancer Center registered nurse manager and oncology program coordinator, explains in the video.
