Verendrye Electric Cooperative‘s General Manager Bruce Carlson talked with KX News in Minot, ND, this week about the Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Power Plan. He didn’t hold back his frustration with the rule. Carlson was interviewed because he was part of a daily seminar held at the Ag Expo, called “The War on Coal.”
Carlson says electric cooperatives own the world’s largest coal-based carbon sequestration project, at Dakota Gasification Company‘s Great Plains Synfuels Plant, and built the largest wind projects owned solely by a cooperative, first in North Dakota and then in South Dakota.
