Several Basin Electric employees put the cooperative principle of concern for community into action.

As part of Rebuilding Together Greater Bismarck/Mandan Area’s annual Rebuilding Day May 8, Basin Electric employees cleaned and repaired a home for a local couple. Chad Reisenauer, Basin Electric manager of member support and services and Rebuilding Together team captain, says, “I think it’s something we should be doing in the community. These folks lived here all their lives. They’ve taken care of us, they’ve helped build the community of Bismarck into what it is. We need to give back to them.”

Rebuilding Together is a United Way agency which provides assistance for people who own their home but physical limitations or income has made maintenance virtually impossible. The annual event is intended to help neighbors in our community who are unable to provide themselves with basics many of us take for granted.

Volunteers replaced a storm door, hung a cabinet, stained the deck, repaired concrete and more. Watch the video.
