United Power connects with members over coffee

Coffee with Co-op

United Power employees and board directors visit with community members during a “Coffee with your Co-op” event.

Emails are quick and blog posts cast a wide net, but United Power, a rural electric cooperative headquartered in Brighton, CO, and Class C member of Basin Electric, understands the importance of good old-fashioned face-to-face communication.

A cooperative’s lifeblood is its members, and United Power is strengthening its relationship with its members by holding “Coffee with your Co-op” events each October, which is National Co-op Month.

“I think Coffee with your Co-op is directly connected to the cooperative principles. We have an obligation to be in front of the members and supporting their communities,” said Laurel Eller, United Power senior communications specialist.
