Is this heaven? No, it’s Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative – one stellar place to work.

At least, that’s what the co-op’s home state seems to be shouting right now. The Des Moines Register recently included Iowa Lakes in its “Iowa’s Top Workplaces” list, which recognizes the top 100 places to score a gig in Iowa.

So, what’s the key ingredient to having a workplace be considered one of the best?

“We owe the award to our employees,” says Rick Olesen, president and CEO of Iowa Lakes Electric.

Employees have the true power to mold a positive and productive culture within the workplace, Olesen adds.

Evaluation for the “Iowa’s Top Workplaces” program was based on feedback from an employee survey conducted a few months ago.

“We had great response to the survey and we really appreciate our employees taking the time to respond,” Olesen says.

Iowa Lakes employees stand by the cooperative’s dedication to leadership, growth and environmental responsibility when providing reliable, competitively priced energy.

But perhaps it’s their unmistakable eagerness to offer valuable services to member-owners and communities that makes them stand out most.
