St. Baldrick’s Dry Fork Station event 2014

Dry Fork Station held their St. Baldrick’s Brave the Shave event Mar 19. More than 25 shavees shaved their heads to raise more than $13,000 for childhood cancer research.

Tom Stalcup, plant manager, shaved his head in honor of his mother and auctioned off his mustache. It’s been more than 18 years since he last shaved his mustache. He raised more than $3,000!

The family of a special honoree was able to attend the event. In September, Olivia Clyde was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. Her dad, Dry Fork Station electrical and instrumentation supervisor, Mike Clyde, was with Olivia at the Billings Clinic in Montana during the event, along with son Alexander, and could not attend. But his wife Kris and two sons, Devin and Wyatt, came to watch the event. Devin had his head shaved.

Bobby Wade, utility operator, shaved his head in support of many family members and friends. Over the last two years, he has raised and donated more than $5,000 to various cancer charities. “Anything I can do to help, no matter how small, is not only my own personal obligation, but more importantly, my privilege,” he says. Watch the video of Bobby shaving his head here.
