Among the 42 registered participants, the top fundraising shaving heroes who emerged victorious during the friendly battle were Gary Schaffer (Burleigh County lieutenant, $1,370 raised), Pat Heinert (Burleigh County sheriff, $1,051 raised) and Luke Teagle (Bismarck firefighter, $780 raised). Last year, Heinert lost his mustache, too.
A total of $7,140 was raised during the event.

Basin Electric St. Baldrick’s Day 2014, the cooperative’s main shaving event, is scheduled for March 14 at Missouri Valley Family YMCA in Bismarck.
