The slogan is not just mere lip service, and Basin Electric employees prove that every year during the cooperative’s United Way fundraising campaign.
As part of Basin Electric’s 2013 United Way campaign, we are highlighting employees who either benefit from or volunteer with United Way and partnering agencies in their communities.
When United Way’s annual Day of Caring rolled around in September, Kristi Pfliger-Keller, Dakota Gas learning and development coordinator, had no problem gathering 12 willing employees from Dakota Gas’ Great Plains Synfuels Plant, located near Beulah, ND, to volunteer a day’s worth of time and effort. Dakota Gas is a subsidiary of Basin Electric.
The volunteers set their sights on Women’s Action and Resource Center (WARC), a nonprofit domestic violence shelter and food pantry in Beulah. Watch Pfliger-Keller explain just how the employees helped WARC, and what that effort meant to the volunteers.
