Four Basin Electric employees participated in the 12th annual Buffalo Stampede charity walk/run event June 1 in Wyoming.

Representing Basin Electric in the five-kilometer run were employees Herb Porter, maintenance planner/scheduler, and Rhonda Chapman, accounting analyst I, both from Basin Electric’s Dry Fork Station located near Gillette, WY. Chapman placed first in her division. Basin Electric employees Jeff Busk, lead system protection technician, Transmission System Maintenance – Gillette, and Curt Pearson, project coordinations representative, participated in the five-kilometer walk.

The event was held at the Durham Ranch, a 65,000-acre bison ranch located north of Wright, WY, and raised more than $10,000 for the Campbell County Memorial Hospital’s Hospice House.

The Hospice House is operated by the Campbell County Healthcare Foundation. The facility provides end-of-life services for patients and families with the philosophy that “the quality of our life is as important as the length of our life.”

Basin Electric and Class A member cooperative Powder River Energy Corporation of Sundance, WY, were Bronze Level sponsors of the 2013 Buffalo Stampede. Basin Electric also contributed to the construction of the Hospice House, which became operational in 2010.
