Basin Electric CEO and General Manager Andrew M. Serri and Mike Eggl, senior vice president of Communications and Administration, attended a May 30 reception in Minneapolis that was hosted by U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) in honor of U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA).

Landrieu currently takes a leading role on the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources.

The evening allowed Basin Electric to meet with Landrieu in a small setting and discuss the future of both the committee and the energy industry.

Both senators talked about their priorities for this congressional session. In addition to being a strong leader on energy issues, Landrieu has also take a special interest in the issue of adoption, particularly in the country of Guatemala where she is familiar with the effort to help families adopt children in need.

Eggl said Landrieu would continue to bring strong leadership to the committee, as well as provide positive representation for the energy industry.
