Basin Electric has long been considered employee-friendly, and a recent honor reiterated that fact.
Basin Electric has been selected as the International Right of Way Association Dakotas Chapter 72 2012 Employer of the Year from among companies in North Dakota, South Dakota and Western Minnesota.
Basin Electric CEO and General Manager Andrew M. Serri, Basin Electric Senior Vice President and General Counsel Claire Olson, and several Basin Electric Right of Way employees accepted the award at the Dakotas Chapter 72 annual meeting on Feb. 1 in Deadwood, SD.
“It’s a great honor for Basin Electric to be chosen for this award, and it’s especially significant because we were chosen by our peers,” Serri said. “Basin Electric’s board, management and staff have a long history of supporting all of the cooperative’s employees and we will strive to continue that support long into the future.”
Basin Electric previously received the Dakotas Chapter 72 award, which is chosen by fellow chapter members, in 2005 and the International Employer of the Year Award for companies with less than 20 right of way employees in 2006. Chapter 72 consists of North Dakota, South Dakota and far western Minnesota.
Basin Electric was also honored with the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award this year for its commitment to employees who serve and protect in the Guard and Reserve.
