We’re now one month into the 63rd Legislative Assembly of the North Dakota Legislature. Back in December, we were pleased and honored to see two close colleagues begin their freshman year: Sen. Jessica Unruh (R – District 33), who works at the Freedom Mine for The Coteau Properties Company, and Rep. Vern Laning (R – District 8), who is a Basin Electric retiree.
Unruh is serving on the Industry, Business and Labor committee and the Natural Resources committee. You can see the bills in which she is a primary sponsor on this page: Unruh
Laning is serving on the Government and Veterans Affairs committee and the Human Services committee. You can see the bills he sponsors on this page: Laning Sponsor Inquiry
I was able to meet up with both of them Jan. 29 at the Lignite Energy Council’s Legislative Reception in honor of North Dakota legislators. Watch the videos to hear their impressions of their first few weeks serving the people of North Dakota.
