Former Wyoming senator uses dance moves to bring awareness

Alan Simpson

For all the partisan gridlock in Washington, it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the upcoming “fiscal cliff.”

But former Sen. Alan Simpson (R-WY) is trying to highlight the seriousness of going over the cliff by injecting a little humor into the situation.

Simpson co-chaired the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform in 2010. The commission also included, from within Basin Electric’s service area, Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) and Sen. Kent Conrad (D-ND). President Barack Obama had created the bipartisan commission to address our nation’s fiscal challenges.

While Basin Electric does not formally take a position on the senator’s message, we heartily endorse his methods of spreading the word. And his stellar dance moves.

Simpson represented Wyoming in the U.S. Senate from 1979 to 1997.
