In the Midwest, we know the impact natural disasters can have on our lives. Last year’s devastating floods, and the destructive winter storms before that are evidence that no place is immune to nature’s will.

In those cases and so many others, our communities were blessed with help from the American Red Cross. That’s why Basin Electric and its employees are now doing our part to give to those in need along the East Coast following Superstorm Sandy’s destruction. The massive storm took lives, displaced thousands from their homes and left millions without power.

Jessica Gilbertson, executive director of the American Red Cross, West Dakota Chapter, came to Basin Electric’s Annual Meeting Banquet last night to accept our help.

Andrew M. Serri presented a check for $10,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts out east.

In addition, Basin Electric employees will be raising money for the Red Cross during an event next week.
