Basin Electric honored with national Freedom Award

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense agency, announced Basin Electric was selected to receive the 2012 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award.

We’ve done several stories on our employee-soldiers here on The Flip Side. Take a look back at a series we featured with Dan Job, Basin Electric building superintendent and a long-time leader with the North Dakota National Guard.

In 2009, Job visited Kimberly Miller, the employee who nominated Basin Electric for the Freedom Award, while she was in Kosovo. He also visited two other employees who were stationed overseas during that trip. Watch him talk about his visit.

In the four-part series from 2009:
Part 1: Basin Electric employee returns from mission to Djibouti, Kosovo
Part 2: Basin Electric employees stationed in Djibouti, Kosovo: living conditions
Part 3: How to make a (Basin Electric) soldier’s day
Part 4: Basin Electric employee and Guard soldier talks about deployment
