Synfuels Plant shop sports 95 gallons of fresh paint

Employees at the Great Plains Synfuels Plant near Beulah, ND, have a method for organizing their shared work areas, like a shop floor or an office space.

They call it the CS2 program. CS2 stands for clean, standardized and safe. It’s based on the 5S (sort, straighten, sweep, standardize and sustain) Japanese housekeeping management system.

Benefits of the CS2 program include less time wasted looking for tools, improved reliability of equipment, improved morale, less injuries due to slips and trips, and many more.

As part of CS2, shift maintenance employees at the Synfuels Plant took several days and 95 gallons of paint to spruce up their area.
