Tim Craven, contractor working for Basin Electric, climbs a guard structure.

Mark Winn, Basin Electric construction coordinator, says crews are building guard structures so they can run the transmission line above an existing distribution line. The guard structures are only temporary until the line is complete. Check out the video to see some of the work.

The Williston-to-Tioga line will be 230-kilovolt transmission line and will run 61 miles from an existing substation, owned by the Western Area Power Administration, to another substation near Tioga, ND.
