St. Baldrick’s: The day after

Get out the brooms. We’re sweeping up.

Hair. Cash. Good stories, good laughter, good memories made with good people.

Donations continue to come in. A total will be shared in the coming weeks. Nearly 200 heads were shaved and several donations of 10-inches of hair were made to Locks of Love. Moustaches and goatees were auctioned off to the highest bidder. Some moustaches were attached after shaving was complete.

Basin Electric brought St. Baldrick’s to North Dakota, and our event last year ranked among the St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s top 20 events in the world.

But this year, the big story was the outpouring of support from community organizations.

Joining Basin Electric this year was participation from MDU Resources Group, NISC, Bismarck State College, the Bismarck Bobcats, the University of Mary, KEM Electric, Century High School, Mahoney and Mahoney Attorneys, the Bismarck Tribune and Dakota United Soccer Club.

Dick Nordgren, a shift supervisor at Antelope Valley Station, was kind enough to capture some video from their event. This is where you’ll find the spontaneous moustache growth.

Check out our teams’ totals on our St. Baldrick’s event page. Go back and watch The Flip Side’s live blog if you didn’t see it yesterday. Keep an eye on Basin Electric’s Web site for more reporting.
