Banks of computer screens are filled with colorful schematics, flashing icons, and occasionally beeping alarms. It’s a control room operator’s job to make sense of it all. Watch the video as Wes Pinkerton, shift supervisor at Basin Electric’s Dry Fork Station, gives a tour of the new power plant’s control room, and a sampling of what operators watch for every day.
Be sure to watch til the end of the video — you’ll get a rare glimpse into the boiler. Wes will point out where you can see the coal coming in. VERY COOL! Or, shall I say, HOT!
That is really neat! I’m guessing this “boiler cam” is a new thing? New for Basin Electric anyway?
