Deer Creek Station’s gas turbine set into place

On Saturday, March 5, the gas turbine was rough set on its foundation on the Deer Creek Station construction site.

Because the Deer Creek Station is combined-cycle, it has two turbines and two generators. The gas turbine (or combustion turbine) is fueled by natural gas. The steam turbine is driven by steam created from the heat of the gas turbine’s exhaust.

Matt Ehrman, Basin Electric’s mechanical field engineer on site, got video of the turbine being moved.
