Steam turbine rebladed and balanced at Dry Fork Station

Crews from Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas have been working at the Dry Fork Station the last few weeks.

Crews from Mitsubishi spent about three weeks replacing the blades.

According to Doug Ramsey, Dry Fork Station construction manager, crews have been busy replacing the blades on the low pressure steam turbine. “They replaced 128 total blades with a newer more recent blade design than were originally installed on the rotor,” he said.

Once all the blades were replaced, Mitsubishi rebalanced the rotor before returning it to its inner and outer shell. To see how they balance the rotor watch the video.
