Basin Electric employees to speak at energy conference

The 32nd annual Energy Generation Conference will be held Jan. 25-27 at the Bismarck (ND) Civic Center.

Professionals from across the continent will present a wide variety of industry topics.

Keynote speaker Jason Makansi will present “Electricity infrastructure: Illusion versus reality,” a look at challenges in expanding electricity infrastructure.

Mark Thompson, BEPC

Mark Thompson, plant manager of Leland Olds Station, will present a case study of pump and fan drive applications at the plant, and the benefits derived from applying present-day drive equipment to existing motors.

Thompson’s presentation will be held Thursday, Jan. 27, at 1:00 p.m. He will present along with Frank Haydock of Toshiba International Corporation.

Ron Rebenitsch, BEPC

Ron Rebenitsch, manager of alternative technologies, will present an overview of the state of the wind industry, the economics underlying wind and the environmental challenges in developing wind projects.

Rebenitsch’s presentation will be held Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 26-27, at 2:15 p.m.
