High-flying line work at Dry Fork Station

Here’s a look at how the contractor for the Hughes Transmission line, Timber Line Construction, installed transmission lines north out of the Dry Fork Station switchyard. This part of the Tongue River section of the 230-kilovolt conductor goes over the top of rail spurs. They were able to pull five lines in less than two hours this morning.

The video below was captured by Bill Morgan, shift supervisor at Dry Fork Station. Many thanks to Bill for sending this to us! Be forewarned, it’s pretty shaky. But it shows you something you probably couldn’t have seen otherwise.
